I am married and have three wonderful little girls, twins that are 3 1/2 and my youngest daughter who is 21 months old. My passion is to find the beauty in everything I see, the tiny toes, the scrunched nose, every little detail. I want to capture true emotion, the hidden moments when a child discovers a flower, plays a new game they invented, splashes in the water, a frozen moment in time for you to treasure.
I have formal training in Lightroom, Photoshop, posing, lighting and newborn safety. Outside of photography, I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Utah and a Juris Doctorate degree from Cornell Law School. I love being an attorney and I am glad that I finally have time to follow my passion of photography as well.
The key for newborn photography is to take pictures in the first two weeks and to do everything we can to make the babies as happy as possible, warm rooms, cozy environments, comfortable props and well fed. I come to your home to make it as easy as possible for you and give you a chance to sit down, put your feet up and relax 🙂
Birth photography allows me to capture the true emotion of the moment. My favorite comment from a husband after a recent birth was “I didn’t realize you were there.” That is the point, I want to melt into the background and allow the Dad to be front and center to support his wife, without worrying about capturing the moment with his camera, ipad or iphone 🙂
Some of my favorite photos are the milestone photos, we always take these at outdoor locations and I love capturing the babies, with their bright eyes, smiles that melt you, and rolly-pollys. These are best done between 4-12 months of age.
