I jump at any chance to learn and gain new insight. A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a workshop with two of the best newborn photographers out there, Erin Tole Photography and Rachel Vanoven Photography. Here are the photos from Day 1 and a few behind the scenes shots, first up, Erin Tole. I will also post a few of Rachel in a moment. It was such a fantastic opportunity to get to know these two woman that have inspired me for years, as well as the truly talented other photographers that attended the workshop. I came away with such insight and tips on how to get the exact look I have been striving to accomplish. They were so down to earth, took the time to push each of us individually out of our comfort zone to try new things, and, obviously, as you can see by the photos, a hit with the babies! I cannot wait to put this knowledge into practice. Truly such a honor to be a part of this!

Here are the photos I captured on Day 2 of the wonderful “same/different” workshop I attended a couple weeks ago. This day was lead by Rachel Vanoven. I have always loved the images of both Erin Tole Photography andRachel Vanoven Photography, but it wasn’t until I saw them working side by side that I realized how completely different their visions were, their work flow, their style, each image was deliberate and in the end was their own unique art. Such an inspiration and it only pushes me more to follow my own style and vision. On Rachel’s day, she really took the time to work with us one on one, she had a great sense of humor, a wicked attention to detail and even lifted one of the workshop attendees into the air just so she could get the correct angle. Truly an amazing opportunity of a lifetime and I am so glad that I did it.
